Classes and instructors are subject to change without notice.
Type of class, i.e. intervals, endurance, race day and strength varies and is posted monthly outside spinning room.
Training Ride Descriptions
Limit 24 participants, 18 and older.
Sign up at the front desk before class time. Check the spinning bulletin board for the monthly schedule of class formats. The RPE acronym stands for Rate of Perceived Exertion.
Endurance • Heart rate training range 12–15 RPE
Enjoy a comfortable intensity during which your breath won’t break. Increase your aerobic capacity, improve your fat metabolism, decrease your risk of cardiovascular disease and improve your body composition.
Strength • Heart rate training range 15–17 RPE
Increase your power and climbing ability in the hills. This energy zone builds your muscular strength, endurance and cardiovascular system.
Interval • Heart rate training range 15–17 RPE
Performed in the right amount, this technique can greatly enhance your fitness level, improve your strength and speed and increase your body’s ability to recover quickly after hard work.
Race Day • Heart rate training range 16–19 RPE
This special event allows you to assess how your training in the other types of classes has paid off. Your breathing, tolerance and intensity will be challenged throughout the ride, so you must have a strong aerobic base and be 100% mentally and physically prepared to attend.
90-minute Aerobic Base Building • Heart rate training range 12-17 RPE
Take your aerobic training to the next level with this longer, smarter, not harder, 90 minute class. Use a combination of seated and standing moves through a smooth, steady energy boosting ride.
Advanced Spin Class
An advanced ride for the advanced spinner and cyclist, Sundays, 4–6 p.m. through April 1, 2012.
Spinning 101
Experience all the amazing health benefits and invigorating rides in our Spinning studio! This class will help you build the foundation you’ll need to become a spinner. Our certified Spinning staff will teach you proper bike setup for comfort and safety, riding positions that simulate a variety of terrains and heart rate calculations for monitoring your exercise intensity. Just as the roads outside are endless and always different, so are our Spinning rides. Space is limited and registration is required. Bring a water bottle.
Class offered the first Saturday of the Month - Beginning in June 2013- (not offered May 4th will be held May 11th)
10:00 a.m.
Sign up at the front desk.
Mileage Club
Spin Studio During Spin Class Hours
(18 and older)
Are you ready to step up your spinning game? We’re starting our very own mileage club for new and current spinners. It’s a perfect program to test your limits and push yourself to greater heights while the Ohio cold keeps you inside. There’s no set start or finish date, so you can start and end on your own terms. Prizes for reaching 500, 1,000 and 2,000 miles.
Each different type of ride has a mileage cap which riders may not exceed. There’s also a weekly cap of 60 miles. You’re welcome to attend as many spin classes a week as you like, even if you hit your weekly cap. Look for more details around the club in Jan. 2013.
Race Day = 20 miles
Interval = 17 miles
Strength = 16 miles
Endurance = 15 miles
