Red Cross Swim Lessons for Kids
Learn to Swim Lessons
The LifeCenter Plus learn-to-swim program is based on Red Cross levels I through VI. If you are unsure about your child’s level placement or need additional information, call the Aquatics Department at (330) 655-2377, ext. 125.
Parents, please note that registration for swim classes will take place only during the times listed. WE WILL NOT TAKE EARLY REGISTRATIONS. Member-only pre-registrations are held outside the aquatics office.
1. All fees are due when you register.
2. Red Cross learn-to-swim classes are available to children 4 to 16 years old.
3. During open registration, you may submit forms in the registration drop box near the Front desk.
4. You must give the registration department 48 hours notice to cancel your registration if you wish to receive a full refund (330-655-2377, ext. 117). We don’t accept voice mails, and there are no refunds once classes begin.
We will not accept registrations before or after the dates below or registrations by phone.
• We do not provide make-up classes for participants unable to attend class.
•We do not provide weather-related make-up classes, classes will be held with land-based drills and skills.
• We do not make confirmation calls regarding lessons; we’ll call you only if your chosen class is unavailable.
*NOTE: There are no Saturday Morning or Thursday Evening swim lessons during the summer.

Description of Red Cross Levels
Level I: Introduction to Water Skills: helps students feel comfortable in the water and enjoy water safely.
Level II: Fundamental Aquatic Skills: gives students success with fundamental skills
Level III: Stroke Development: builds previously learned skills by providing additional guided practice.
Level IV: Stroke Improvement: Participants refine their performance of all strokes and increase distances.
Level V: Stroke Refinement: provides further coordination and refinement of strokes
Level VI: Swimming and Skill Proficiency: Enables kids to swim with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness.
Private Swim Lessons

Private swim lessons are taught by our certified water safety instructors and are available to LCP members and their children, (three and older) all levels.
One 1/2 hour lesson - $28
5 lessons - $125
10 lessons – $200

Aqua Kids (Parent/Child)
(6 months to 4 Years; limit 24 children)
Aqua Kids is a fun introduction to water that allows each child and his/her parent to play together while learning water safety and pre swimming skills. Bring your camera to capture the moments that lead to your Childs life long relationship with the water. Parent or guardian must accompany children.

Water Safety Instructor Aide/Guard Start Camp
Two Red Cross courses are combined into one great aquatic experience. This class will prepare you to become a lifeguard and/or swimming instructor when you are old enough. All participants must have completed the fifth grade. This class runs two weeks.

Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
(15 and older; limit 20)
Professional lifeguards are healthy individuals, who work to stay fit and are knowledgeable, reliable, mature, courteous, consistent, positive, and professional. If you have these qualities, managers of pools, lakes, camps, and a variety of water attractions are looking for you. By taking this course and learning CPR / AED, Water Rescues and First Aid, you will become a sought after commodity in the job market--a Red Cross certified professional lifeguard!
$180 for members; $210 for nonmembers
$40 Text Book and Materials Fee.
