Yoga Instructor, Patty Jackson Helps Students Achieve Mental and Physical Strength

LifeCenter Plus Yoga Instructor, Patty Jackson, Uses the Flow and Breath to Benefit Mind, Body and Soul

“Yoga is life,” exclaimed LifeCenter Plus Yoga instructor, Patty Jackson. “It liberates you mentally, physically and emotionally. Who you are on the mat, is who you are in life.”

Patty has been a Yoga instructor since 2008. Her journey into Yoga began after the end of another journey, on the Appalachian Trail. After trekking the trail, she wanted to find a similar way of calming and quieting her brain, while accomplishing something. “I wanted to continue that sensation of finding strength in my body, challenging my mind and enriching my soul.”

Patty’s Yoga journey began at LifeCenter Plus and went on to accelerate into further training and becoming an instructor – and she hasn’t stopped yet. “The practices in Yoga liberate you. It opens you, and you feel things mentally and physically that you never were aware of before.”

Once she found her passion in Yoga, she wanted to combine it with another that would allow her to practice for years to come – as a teacher. Instructing allows her to not only help her students, but to also share the joy she finds in Yoga. “I love the connection I have with my students. I love seeing how Yoga has inspired them.”

Her current classes consist of slow Vinyasa flow, which links body movements to different poses through breath. The class concentrates on flexibility, strength and balance in both mentality and physicality.

Her teaching method enlists a hands-on approach, where she helps her students with difficult poses. “One student couldn’t believe she could do a headstand. That exhilaration of overcoming an obstacle in Yoga reflects into their everyday challenges. You realize you can overcome anything.”

After her students have attended several classes, Patty can see the benefits they have achieved in many ways including mental and physical strength, confidence, and help in combating stress and grief. “It’s amazing to see their transformation and enlightenment, physically, mentally and emotionally.”

One of her students was even able to overcome a severe case of asthma. “I had one student who could barely walk up a flight of stairs. She’s an instructor now.”

“If you know how to breathe, you can practice and see great results from Yoga. From calming your mind to finding physical strength – just listen to your body.”
