Spinning Instructor Profile:
Laura Williams

Everybody's intimidated at first, but you have to remember, each person tried it for the first time once!"
Laura Williams
LifeCenter Plus Spinning Instructor

Since May of 2003, Laura Williams has been a Spinning Instructor at LifeCenter Plus.

"I moved to Ohio from Texas in 2003 and the next month began teaching spinning here at LifeCenter. It’ll be 9 years I’ve been at LifeCenter Plus and I really like it here. I continue to teach here because of the people and the friendly environment. I never wanted to teach anywhere else.” She started spinning in 1995 and less than a year later became an instructor. “I thought to myself, this is good. It’s a great work out!”

Her advice for those who are interested in trying Spinning:
“Everybody’s intimidated by spinning at first. Everybody! They think that it’s going to be so hard and all the people in the class are so good and working out so hard. What they need to remember is all of us had our first time. My legs were shaking the first time. Come on in early and get set up. Just try it and take it easy at first! You’ll get hooked on it and want to go!”

She is emphatic about safety. " Proper set up is the key. Safety first."

When asked about her favorite music for spinning she insists it is hard to chose but currently for hills her favorite is “Sweet Child of Mine” and for flats “Party Rock Anthem”

Laura used to do triathlons and race competitively, but now besides teaching at LifeCenter Plus, she rides her bike for pleasure with friends.

“I am doing the Pedal For Heroes on Feb 26 here at LifeCenter. It’s a good cause and will be fun because I’m on a team with my friends.”

Laura teaches several classes, including the 8:30 am Sunday morning class, the 9:30 am Friday morning class.

LifeCenter Plus has a spinning studio with 25 Spinning bicycles and holds as many as 80 classes a month in the winter at the facility, including several beginner Spinning 101 classes.
